Rudrani Writer’s Corner

Hello everyone. I am Rudrani. I grew up in Leigh, Lancashire, but my family is originally from Andhra Pradesh, in South India. I am a medical graduate, but I currently work for the transcription service at Kirklees Council. I am also a member and Co-chair of the Tyldesley Creative Writers Group, which is part of my passion for creative writing and the writing community. Additionally, I have a YouTube channel where I share my work. From the age of 11, I started getting my work published, and writing runs in my family: my father, Dr. Vivekananda Murthy Kadiyala, is a renowned writer in Telugu. My late maternal grandfather, Sri Satyanarayana Murthy Chavali, was an English professor known for writing Hindu religious books in English and moral stories for the youth.

I write short stories, poems, essays, memoirs, and monologues. I have had four books published, including collections of short stories, poetry, moral stories, and my debut novel. I've also contributed several articles to Telugu magazines in the UK and my writers' groups' anthologies, further building my author platform.

My first book published in 2021 is a short story collection titled TROUBLED WATERS - Stories of Love, Life, and Strife. My second book, also published in 2021, is called WORDS FROM THE HEART - A Collection of Poems, featuring illustrations by the famous Telugu artist, the late Sri Bapu, and one by my younger son, Abhiram Bhamidimarri.

The third book, released in 2022, is NIGHT-WATCHER - A Collection of Moral Stories, adapted from tales originally written by my late maternal grandfather. My fourth book, published in 2025, is my novel: PATRONAGE. Set in South India, it tells two love stories: one in the 1970s and another spanning the 1990s to the 2000s, exploring themes of love, betrayal, power, and the complexities of human relations and emotions.

"I asked for patronage, not a hand in marriage." Set at the turn of the Millennium in Southern India, this captivating story explores the shades of love and human relations, appealing to readers within the writing community. Badri is a renowned veterinarian and a devoted father, but his struggles with married life and his inability to forget the past lead him to seek an author platform for solace and succour. Lalitha, his beautiful and naive daughter, finds herself caught between her parents' rift, feeling abandoned by her much-adored father. As her mother's greed threatens her ambitions, she turns to a wealthy, powerful, and charismatic neighbor, eighteen years her elder, for help. However, his assistance comes at a hefty price, and with no other option, she reluctantly agrees. "I have sold my soul to the Devil!" Years later, she must confront her feelings, trapped between love and loyalty. Which should she choose?
